Uganda
Uganda Waragi is a unique gin that originates from Uganda, specifically created by the lake shores of Port Bell. This gin has a rich history, having been developed shortly after Uganda gained independence in 1962. It was the first manufactured triple-distilled gin in the country, crafted by a group of 26 blenders led by Master Blender Joel Sentamu. The name “Waragi” is derived from the local term for gin, which was historically referred to as “war gin” due to its popularity during celebrations and victories.
